Grief

Grief requires stillness and courage. It makes you contract in a way that needs to be loosened up before it can be released. Locate the tension in your body, relax around it, wait for the emotion to emerge, and then cry it out. Simple, but it requires you to be brave because the associated pain can get so intense. The good news is that the grief eventually passes through and out of your system, and you feel so much better afterwards. Isn’t it better to experience pain for a few minutes or hours while letting the emotion out, as opposed to holding on to it for a whole lifetime? Some people drink to find courage or to loosen up the knots, but there’s no telling where a session like that can end. Alcohol and grief do not go well together.
